Description
The carcinoma is arising in the left main bronchus and has spread peripherally to surround the aorta
and the pulmonary vessels. Metastatic disease can be seen in the local lymph nodes. The pleura is
involved and the bronchi obstructed, and the lobe partly collapsed.
History
This man died suddenly at work at the age of 40 years and apparently without previous
complaint.
